I would just like to thank David Boon. He is a great teacher. As for myself I was a young boy who fell through the cracks in school, so I was just hands on in my life for jobs. Now at 56 years old, I have my dream of when I was a kid. Now that I have my skipper ticket, it's still sinking in. It has come true for me. I'm over the moon. So this is for everyone who thinks you can't do well, you can find your dreams come true just like me.

Preparing to return to commercial maritime work, 35 years (and a number of career changes) after first working as a deckhand, was a bit daunting. The Sea School staff helped me navigate (literally) through the intricacies of maritime operations with a firm hand on the shoulder and words of wisdom gained through years in the industry.
Indeed, the little gems of advice and insight provided in the course of delivering the theoretical and practical training were absolutely priceless both in instilling confidence in performing coxswain duties and in preparing to undertake the 'orals' assessments.

After completing my Master 24 NC and MED 2 with the team at Burleigh over the past few months, I just wanted to convey my appreciation of the crew who were all very good, making my experience so beneficial.

Trevor my main tutor has an amazing wealth of knowledge of all things nautical and mechanical and can relate to students in easy understandable terms making the learning process enjoyable.
Peter is also outstanding in his vast knowledge and experience gained over a lifetime as a mariner and relates to students professionally and effectively.
Finn is a fun guy to be around and although I only did a few modules with him, could see that he is extremely good also and future students will benefit greatly from his guidance.
Hannah, Alex, Bridget and Madison the kind and upbeat ladies I dealt with in the admin team and had many phone and email encounters with, just make it all happen so easily, many thanks to them also. I wish the entire team at Seaschool all the best and hope I can do further training with you down the track.

Just a short note to highlight the great learning experience I recently had as a student on the Coxswain Grade 1 course, facilitated by Mark Farrell.
The course was well run and I learnt (and re-learnt!) an immense amount. This was largely due to the efforts, knowledge, skills, background and high levels of EQ possessed by our instructor Mark. In addition, the pre-course administration and communications was strong.
His approach was relaxed in an adult learning environment, buttressed by an extraordinary depth of subject matter expertise. There were some real gems in his interactive instruction.
As a Senior Australian Army Officer and instructor in most Special Force skill sets, I really appreciated the way Mark imparted his knowledge on the collective student group and ensured we not only knew what was required as per the course syllabus, but also armed us with the additional learned experience he has absorbed over a career as a seafarer.
A wonderful learning experience and I will be back to attempt the Masters 45 course at some point soon.
